The Weekend

Been a real busy weekend, a good one though for the most part. Friday night i went and got modern warfare 2, that game is ridiculous!! played it until about 2am into Saturday. Got up at 630 exhausted and met 11 guys at the house to do the drywall. It was crazy watching these guys work...literally cutting drywall and running to hang it! Saturday night watched some ufc, ran like crap playing poker. Yesterday had some family over and watched football. During half time of the Skins game my sisters wanted to go and see the house so i got into my work truck and backed right into my bro inlaws truck...now i owe him a bumper, this morning i got up and on my way to work assasinated a deer (in the work truck) still overall a good weekend.

I was real happy to get the drywall up, now its going to start looking like a house.

I played a little poker over the weekend, but ran like complete crap. I know its to be expected but oh well...im gonna stick with it, like i said i just have to deal with it, no withdraws, ill go broke first!

nice day...long road ahead!

I kinda got rained out workin on the house today, but for the most part the electric is all roughed in and i got a big inspection comin tomorrow that will 'ok' the drywall to be hung this weekend.

So about 2-3 days ago i got super motivated to start playing poker again. Unfortunately i found myself with only 200 bucks on cake, i plan on being farely aggressive in trying to build this, but still only taking good shots. Today i beat a guy for 9 buyins at 20nl HU...sad that it was such small stakes but its a marathon not a sprint.

I also find that my poker winnings and bankroll are a constant wheel over the last 7 months or so....i play good run decent and get excited about what may come, then i hit a nasty swing and withdraw just about everything and start over...not anymore! I keep telling myself that varience at 6max and HU is something i just have to accept, that's what BR management is for. All of this is kinda obsolete until i get back to the 100nl range, so we'll see but either way im really more then anything focusing on keeping my head and just dealing with the swings of HU. I really hope i can go somewhere with this...however i almost always seem to jinx myself so we'll see what happens this time! I've just over tripled that 200 in like 5-6 days. i've played a ton of hands and the varience has been pretty big but today was real nice!

wish me luck!

Anybody out there??

Im sure no one even checks this but ill take a shot and see..

I've been doing pretty much nothing with my free time but wiring my house. I've been doing electrical work for awhile...and i can say i never thought this would've been so much work. I've been working every single day after work until it gets to dark or im to tired. And weekends have been 10-12 hours Sat and Sunday...this has been for like a month and a half. I've pretty much pulled all my funds offline except for a couple hundo on cake. Im gonna try and donk around with that and see if i can flip it a few times...

Big props to Doug Polk to! Talked to him recently and he's doin it so hard!! Talkin with him is such a motivator and i cant wait to get back to bein able to grind again. Here are some updated pics of the house...the drywall will be done next Saturday

Shot taking....

Over the last week or two i've kinda found the motivation to squeeze in some hands when i can, and its not been good, but worth telling i guess. So i was browsing through a magazine and saw a quote from phil ivey talking about how he managed his BR when he was coming up starting at the tropicana in Atlantic City. The quote basically said that if he had 30k to his name he was playing 75/150 w/15k and if he lost that then he' would take 15k and play 50/100, and just rebuild or keep dropping down if needed. So being that i dont have the time to multitable or put in alot of time i figured maybe take that last 3k i have on cake and do something similar. well it started by playing 2 tables of 400nl. It actually started ok, of course i was a bit nervous but overall felt like i played well. so the end of my 400nl shot came 6 handed me holding KJs on a super aggro table. i got it all in against an A high FD for like $940 pot, and lose to flush on river...standard i guess but heart breaking! let me step back a bit and say that all of this stuff is a result of cake not letting me withdraw my money...over the past 4-5 months i've sent them about 10 good quality pics of my license that FT never had a problem with, and they apparently say that the quality isn't good enough, they seem like a bunch of crooks! Ok so back to the 400nl stuff....i quit after that pot feeling pretty sick. I got home later that night and said well maybe ill just play a few 200nl tables. So i played a little of that 4 tabling only to quit pissed off after posting to KK and losing a stack to AA on the first hand. Just typical stuff but its always great taking nasty beats when playing higher then you should! Soo then comes the day i got to work real early and decide to pull the laptop out and start watching the 1k nl HU games on cake. I got the nerve up to sit and the guy rolls off the table...so i tell myself "its not meant to be" but i go ahead and sit at another and lose my whole stack w/2 pair v a set! To be honest, at first the feeling of losing that money really stuck with me but i kinda quickly got over it and decided that once/if i rebuilt to 2k i would do it again but i've not been able to get anything going with my last 1k. Im also still trying to withdraw the money to, so whichever comes first i guess will happen.

On another quick note after all the checks i've gotten from Full Tilt in the past, i've never had a problem with any of them, until now. I normally cash/deposit them pretty quick but i've been hanging on to 1 for awhile, just been to busy. i get an email from them saying dont cash it and sorry and they gave me 100 bucks for my trouble. Thought that was pretty cool of them.

Lastly, i've got a ton going on right now. Its my turn to be working everyday at the house because its time for electrical rough in. I've got most of my boxes up, and the last few days have been putting in the recess lights so there is no question on location when i bring some friends in to to help me. So this weekend im goin to New York for a wedding, next weekend going to Atlantic City for 3 days, and the following weekend i leave for a week to chicago for work. Somehow have to get this house wired between these trips and before i leave for Chicago. Its coming along nice right now...money is tight as hell but we'll make it. everything is so expensive...i just spent 3k on my faucets for 1 shower, gotta love it.

Poker is dead!!!!!!!!!!!

Its official! Poker is pretty much dead for me these days!! As each week goes by i play less and less poker. I just have no time or drive to play online right now. Its weird because im absolutely dying to play live. I 100% believe that this has everything to do with the fact that im pulling my hair out building this house and just dont have the time or brainpower to devote to playing poker. I also have another interest that is much easier and quicker and is making me quite a bit more money right now, so that at least takes care of my degenerate gambling itch! I did schedule a weekend trip to Atlantic City for Oct. 3,4,5 with my wife, my sister and her husband and im really looking forward to it. I used up the last bit of my cake points to order a cardplayer mag subscription and the first issue came in the mail on Saturday, so i told myself maybe this will respark my flame! So before even opening the magazine i decided to play a little. I had been playing only HU and 6max over the last couple months, but decided i would open a couple FR tables for a change. I ran like complete crap surprise surprise lol you know the typical run KK into AA, flop set against KK turn K...so that was the extent of my session on Saturday. Yesterday (sunday) i woke up really earlier and decided to hop on. I played some 50nl HU and had 2 FR tables rockin. i too about 4 buyins off the HU guy and won a few bucks playing FR and it was definetely fun! I need to play a little bit so that i can feel confident going into AC in a couple weeks.

The house has slowed to a real slow creep. The brick layer is the only person working right now which is terrible!! My plumber was suppost to start last week and never showed. Kinda not that big of a deal because we are still trying to get our kitchen design finalized and this weekend we finally bought a jacuzzi tub (which took about 3 weeks because there was like 2500 to look through). So now there is no excuse for him not to get rockin! Banking and money is kinda a joke to...hopefully it will be back into full swing some day soon, we want to be in sooo bad...i fall in love with the house more and more everytime i walk through it!

last few weeks

It feels like its been forever and im not sure that anyone even reads this! The last few weeks have been a blur and packed with all kinds of stuff. The biggest event was a week ago. Me and my church's softball team went to Texas for a national tournament. Its always fun traveling with a big group of people! To sum up the tournament we sucked! Its unreal how grown men can struggle to hit a softball good! Anyways the food in Texas was freakin amazing! I actually kinda think the highlight of the trip was the first and last day. The day we flew to Texas most of us wore Redskins jerseys.(Im a diehard Skins fan)...Anyways if your not from this planet, Dallas and Washington are always a huge rivalry! And also for some reason there are a ton of Cowboys fans here in Maryland, DC and Virgina where we live, and we always have to hear there crap so figured itd be nice to give them some back for once. And omg the stairs and dirty looks we got at the airport...i mean i wish i had a hidden camera lol. To top off the trip the last day we went by the Cowboys new stadium...at first i was completely against this but as we came up on this baheemeth of a space looking stadium my jaw dropped! I've never seen anything like this ever! There new stadium is straight pimp! So we find out there are about 20-30k people in the stadium and it was open to the public to walk through...So i pull my jersey out of my suitcase and say lets go!! To my surprise for the most part people just kinda thought it was funny and pretty weird to see me walking through there. It was a fun experience!

okay...poker...what is poker??? Oh yea, lol i've only played a little poker here and there. I've stayed true and only played HU. Most of my HU has been on cake and i dont track any of the hands unfortunately, but i think im up like almost 1500 or so this month. I say this everytime but i absolutely love playing HU! The end of last month into the begginning of this month i was running real crappy but i caught a nice little heater yesterday winning like 600 or something. Im still playing 50-100nl HU. I've really developed what in my opinion is a great 60bb game at 100nl. Its crazy how successful its been so far! I haven't yet thought about taking bigger shots at all yet. Im still barely playing like 500 hands a week :) lol...Another thing which kinda sucks about HU though is that people get pissed off at me alot because i never sit down planning to play x amount of hand or for x amount of time. I play when i have a little free time which these days is not very often. So lately ive been winning a bunch and i try not to hit n run but sometimes i know that's the way it looks...oh well what can i do?? nada and who cares for the most part!! They can just keep shippin it!

Lastly, if you're still reading this, the house is still goin. Been doing little stuff here and there but its kinda slowed down for a bit. The HVAC is all roughed in. The chimney took about 2 weeks to do being that it is a double fireplace so that looks real good!! Also we're finding that this thing is going to cost a whole lot more then originally anticipated!! I think we'll be fine, we're just going to have to save some plans for a little bit down the road!! Hopefully pics to come!

Fingers Crossed!!..and finished roof!

I have decided to move over to playing HU exclusively. I've had little sample dips into HU and have enjoyed it every time and seen success pretty much everytime but the nit in me always tightens up and moves back to FR...not anymore! Im a person who really doesn't have that much time to sit and play FR for hours a day anyways. HU you can sit for 20-30 minutes get reads on your opponent, have plenty of action and get up and walk away feeling like you've been playing for hours! I still feel a bit novice, but feel like im gettin a little better each day. HU is such an intense game. I played that last week or so of july HU after having a horrible month of FR and did very well. So im going to take the last few thousand i have and try and grow it playin sshu!! Hopefully this is the correct path for me, i think it definetely could be, we shall see!
Finally!! The roof is pretty much finished and its almost waterproof!! The windows will be in by Tuesday. After the whole beginning of July being nice and dry the last 2 weeks have been rain almost everyday!!
